SARA PALACIOS

My name is Sara Palacios, I’m a marathon open water swimmer from Ecuador. Swimming has been part of most of my life, since I learnt to swim at 6 years old, racing in local and international events when I was a teenager, both in pool and Open Waters. And now sharing my knowledge and expertise with other swimmers while I train myself to complete my personal challenges.

I’m a professional chef and happily married mother of two, Manuela and Horacio.

As a swimmer I’m always looking for new challenges.

I already completed the WOWSA triple crown of Open Water (English Channel, Catalina Channel and 20 bridges Manhattan Island Marathon Swim), also several swims in Ecuador and South America, working to complete the Oceans 7 Challenge in the years to come.

In 2018 me and my husband founded AGUAS ABIERTAS ECUADOR, an organization dedicated to promote Open Water Swimming in Ecuador by giving swimming lessons, organizing workshops and events for swimmers of all ages and levels.

I’m also OCEANMAN Ecuador race director, and part of OCEANMAN family since 2019.
