OCEANMAN OPEN WATER COACH CERTIFICATION
- OCEANMAN Coach Certification offers you the fully online course in English or Spanish (500,00 €).
OCEANMAN aims to ensure our qualifications are high quality and reflect the latest industry developments. This qualification has been designed to allow current open water swimmers, swim coaches, and triathlon coaches to build on their current skills and acquire specialist knowledge in delivering open water swimming sessions.
You will learn about:
- The roles and responsibilities of coaching in the open water swimming
- The advantages and disadvantages of diverse types of swimming equipment
- The different opportunities and challenges available to open water swimmers
- How to plan open water swimming coaching sessions
- How to develop management skills
By the end of this qualification, you will have the skills needed to work as an open water swimming coach and effectively and independently plan, prepare, deliver, monitor and evaluate open water swimming training sessions.
1 – Online Open Water Coach Certification (80 Hours)
2 – Open Water Swimming Practice Assignment (5 Hours)

Each module includes:
- Introduction video plus lecture videos
- Course workbook (reading material)
- At the end of each module “Test Your Knowledge” (20-60 questions online, 80% pass rate required to proceed with the next module)

○ Be able to plan for coaching open water swimming
○ Understand the swimmers’ conditioning program
○ Be able to develop a conditioning program adapted to swimmers’ needs
○ Understand nutrition linked with swimming in open waters
○ Understand the facts involved in injuries and how to avoid them or adapt to them
- 18 years of age or older on the first day of the course and have experience in the open water swimming.
- The course is delivered in English, therefore, a proficient level of English is required.
- Certified Swimming or Triathlon Coach
