Linda Godeire

“You are never too old to dream new dreams, that’s my motto. Although I’ve been swimming recreationally my whole life, I only started to train seriously for competitive swimming at the age of 47. In the following years I participated in Masters competitions, Open Dutch Masters Championships, open water competitions and events such as Bosphorus Cross-Continental Swim and Ijsselmeer crossing (Medemblik-Stavoren).

I started coaching back in 2008. First teaching children how to swim and a few years later combined that with coaching in competitive swimming. Now I focus entirely on competitive swimming (pool) and open water swimming. I’m a certified trainer / coach for learning to swim, competitive swimming and open water swimming.

Next to my job as a Senior Communications Consultant, I am currently working as a head coach (age group 9-12 years) at a premier league swimming club in the Netherlands (Blue Marlins).

One of the coaching jobs I look back on with pride is coaching a practically blind young adult and swimming simultaneously with her connected by a buddy-line during her open water challenge.
